Tips for Mt.Kailash journey

For the two weeks of journey to manasasarovar from Nepal . a duffel bag will be given to each yatri by the tour organiser.

It rains a lot in Nepal and at the check post at Nepal/Tibet border; so you will be given a plastic bag to pack all your clothes from getting wet. We just need to put all the clothes in the plastic bag(plastic rubbish bags ) and need to pack that in the duffel bag.so pack very few clothes.

During your travel, you will be served with good food, but if you take few things like corn flakes of your choice, some potato chips and at least one bottle of pickle, it will help you to get your taste and appetite. The high altitude travel will make you lose your appetite, but for this journey to complete successfully you must eat. If you stop eating, your oxygen levels will decrease.

Pack less number of clothes, because you wont get to wear all of them. In the jeep you will feel warm and sometimes hot, but when your out even for some time, it will be windy and cold. So you only need to wear warm clothes and the jackets need to be ready with you as soon as we get down from the vehicle. Always wear clothes in layers, so you can put on layers or remove layers as needed.

Always in the vehicle keep some chocolates, snacks and some energy drinks. Drink plenty of water mixed with some energy flavored powders. This will help you from getting dehydrated and will increase your oxygen levels.

The roads will be very bumpy sometimes and so use of travel pillows(cushions)from getting back pain is very helpful.

If you get motion sickness from traveling on bumpy roads and at high altitudes, be ready with your motion sickness medicines and other medicines in a handy bag with you at all times.
